Benefits

Shared Living Providers make long-term commitments to sharing a home, helping people with daily routines, and inviting someone with developmental disabilities to be part of their family, resulting in lifelong relationships. Shared Living Providers support people either in the home of the live-in caregiver or the home of the person accessing services. Shared Living Providers also provide respite care for temporary needs or emergencies.

Some of the services you may provide include assistance with household tasks, including laundry and cleaning, bathing and person hygiene care, medical care tasks including medication administration, meal planning and preparation, assistance with eating, and transporting the person to and from medical appointments and community events.
